Larry O’Reilly became Executive Vice President, IMAX Theatre Development in September 2004. Located in Toronto, Mr. O’Reilly oversees all aspects of theatre sales and marketing for IMAX, as well as the development, design and installation of IMAX® theatres. In this role, Mr. O’Reilly leads the team focused on generating new business opportunities for IMAX and growing the IMAX theatre network, including the introduction of IMAX’s new, proprietary, digital projection based delivery system.
Larry O’Reilly joined IMAX in 1994 as Sales Manager, Film Distribution, and during his time with the Company, has served in a wide range of business development roles. Mr. O’Reilly has held diverse responsibilities ranging from film financing to heading the Company’s strategic partnership effort. He has also been instrumental in the evolution of IMAX’s sales strategy and secured some of the largest theatre contracts in the Corporation’s history, including a 100-theatre joint venture agreement with AMC Entertainment, and other multiple theatre agreements with Regal Entertainment Group, Cineplex Galaxy and Cinemark USA.
Prior to joining IMAX, Mr. O’Reilly developed and managed the National Sales and Marketing organization of a major US manufacturer, and worked as a consultant in the Executive Search industry. Mr. O'Reilly is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, where he studied Political Science and Business Administration.
