Matthew Vaughn is one of the most prolific and successful film-makers working in the UK today. Through his production company MARV Films, which recently signed a three-year deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Vaughn continues to create quality commercial movies with genuine international appeal.

Matthew started his career in 1996 as a producer with The Innocent Sleep, a thriller starring Michael Gambon and Rupert Graves. He partnered with director Guy Ritchie in 1997 and the following year made Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which became one of the most successful British films of the decade. This was followed by the diamond heist movie Snatch with Brad Pitt, Benicio Del Toro, and Jason Statham. The film opened to great acclaim and went on to accrue $100 million worldwide. In 2002, Vaughn produced Mean Machine, a remake of the 1974 Burt Reynolds classic The Longest Yard, starring Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham.

Vaughn set up MARV in 2003 before making his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed thriller Layer Cake with Daniel Craig, Michael Gambon, and Sienna Miller. His latest film Stardust, an epic fairytale romance starring Robert DeNiro, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Claire Danes, was released last year and has taken over $135 million at the global box office.
